Star Wars Writer to Retire after New Star Wars Movie

Lawrence Kasdan, writer of the legendary Star Wars movies has announced his planned retirement after the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens in December. The behind the scenes movie legend will be missed in the industry, but talk about going out with a bang- the new Star Wars movie coming in December is one of the most anticipated movies of the century.


According to IMDB, Lawrence Kasdan was born on January 14, 1949 in Miami, Florida, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). He has been married to Meg Kasdan since November 28, 1971. They have two children.

He’s also been involved with popular movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dreamcatcher, and The Bodyguard. Many of his movie scripts have gone on to be box office hits and movie classics.
