NBC’s The Voice teams up with Snapchat

The age of technology has made it fast and accessible for friends, families and strangers to connect with each other. Not only can you use social media to keep up with the latest entertainment, but you can use it to show off your talents. Celebrities like Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Kate Upton were just merely undiscovered talent until they were discovered on social media. The positive influence of discovered talent through social media has caught the liking of talent competition TV Show “The Voice”.


The Voice is an American reality television singing competition broadcasted on NBC. The Voice allows four celebrity musician coaches to select contestants for their teams and the prominent contestants are able to compete during live performance shows. With the help of America’s votes one winner is chosen and is completely transformed into a recording artist. The 11th season of the Voice will be a special treat, as it will have two winners! There will be a winner on The Voice and a winner on The Voice Snapchat.


The Voice has incorporated social media app Snapchat to find additional talent, which according to an NBC press release brought in a response from 20,000 people.  Between August 21st and September 19th an adjacent five-episode contest will take place on Snapchat. Each celebrity coach will choose their own contestant to feature on the Snapchat series. The first episode of the Snapchat series featured celebrity coach Alicia Keys’ contestant on NBC’s Snapchat channel on August 22nd.
