Some of these costumes will take very little work, while others will likely require multiple crafting sessions in order to complete. We wish you the best of luck for this years costume!

Inspiration for the Perfect Halloween Costume:

1. The Seven Year Itch
The movie stars the iconic Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell and contains one of the most memorable images of the 20th century – Monroe standing on a subway grate as her white dress is blown by a passing train. Marilyn’s name nowadays is still brought up frequently. She has become a role model to support women love their bodies, no matter the shape. The title “the seven year itch” refers to declining interest in a monogamous relationship after seven years of marriage, and has been used by psychologists. Whether you are looking for a single’s outfit or couples outfit, this movie is a great fit!
2. Grease
cdn4-static-ovimg-1 The film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-JohnStockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway. Anyone would recognize Olivia Newton as either version from the movie — her prudish self or as a rock n’ roll badass babe (plus you’ll be nice and warm in long pants girls!). Boys be sure to carry around a comb for your hair if you choose this movie. You can also either dress up as a specific couple – like Danny & Sandy, or Kenickie & Rizzo, or get a group of your friends together and make up your very own pink ladies or T-Birds crew. Bonus points to anyone willing to walk around with a mini speaker playing the Grease soundtrack for a night.
3. Friends
Friends is a classic sitcom about a great group of friends — shocker I know. Dress in all black and put a little waist apron on and pose as Rachel Green from her “coffee serving” waitress years. Otherwise you could also dress up as Rachel and Ross together, walk around saying “we were on a break” to everyone for some good laughs. Dressing up as Joey would be funny too. All you need is jeans and a white shirt. Walk around with a pizza (yum, drunchies) and say “how you doin’ ” to everyone. This would also be a great idea to get a group together for everyone to dress up as!
4. Dirty Dancing
cdn4-static-ovimg-3 Dirty Dancing is an a classic from 1987. The story is a coming-of-age drama that documents a teenage girl’s relationship with a dance instructor whom she encounters during her family’s summer vacation. Plus these halloween costumes would be so easy to put together. You could go as a solo character or go as a couple.  All you need is an all black outfit to be Johnny and either wear a pale pink dress or white t-shirt and blue jeans to look just like Baby. I hope you practice at least one killer dance move to show off the big whole night!
5. Harry Potter
cdn4-static-ovimg-2 A part of coming up with a fun and original costume is thinking a little bit outside of the box. With the recent release of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Harry Potter costumes will be reemerging from the back of everyone’s closets. The key here is picking a more obscure character like Mad Eye Moody, Professor Trelawney or even BuckBeak the hippogriff. Whatever character you are though, its likely you’ll need tips on how to construct your own wand, so we’ve got your back with this step-by-step how-to instructions.
6. Finding Nemo

With Finding Dory recently making it’s debut, this movie costumes will be hot stuff this halloween too! You could dress up as Darla – the crazy headgear teenager who always shakes fish baggies a little too much. Or do your own take on a fish costume – be creative, think out of the box!
7. Gilmore Girls
Our favorite mother-daughter duo are coming BACK! The TV-Show is set in a storybook Connecticut town populated with an eclectic mix of everyday folks and lovable lunatics, Gilmore Girls is a humorous multigenerational series about friendship, family and the ties that bind. Thirtysomething Lorelai Gilmore has made her share of mistakes in life, but she has been doing her best to see that her college-bound daughter – and best friend in the world – Rory, doesn’t follow in her footsteps. You and your friend could dress up as Lorelei and Rory or you could dress up as the Luke and Lorelei.
8. We’re The Millers
Starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis who actually dress up and pose as a goofy couple who rented an RV for a “family” vacation in this movie. This halloween, dress up as the posers themselves. If you’re not into that idea, you could also write “NO RAGRETS” on your upper-chest and wear a white muscle tank to complete the look. Seriously, you should have no ragrets this halloween — starting with your costume choice.
9. Divergent
cdn4-static-ovimg-5 The story takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. Beatrice Prior is warned that she is Divergent and thus will never fit into any one of the factions and soon learns that a sinister plot is brewing in her seemingly perfect society. Dress up as some badass dauntless recruits by wearing all black suits. Draw some tattoos on yourself to help finish the whole look. Couples can dress up as Beatrice (Tris) and Tobias – the first divergent couple.
10. Crocodile Dundee

He’s our favorite crocodile hunter. This Australian comedy is actually inspired by the true life exploits of Rodney Ansell. Dress up together with someone as a crocodile and the other the hunter. All it takes is a crocodile onesie (courtesy of Amazon) and some khaki shorts plus a killer hat. Bonus – you can use the same hat and khaki outfit for crocodile dundee, pair it with a whip and dress up as Indiana Jones the following night. Dual outfit status – nothing beats it.
