Dreamwork’s The Boss Baby has stayed on top of the weekend box office since it’s debut on March 31st. An animated baby in a suit has indeed beaten out Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for two weeks. Over the weekend ‘Boss Baby’ brought in an estimated 26.3 million, overall totaling to 89 million.
The film is loosely based on the children’s book “The Boss Baby” by Maria Frazee, as it follows the adventures of a seven-year old jealous of his new little brother. When the brother embarks on a mission to win back the sole affection of his parents, he stumbles upon a secret plot by the CEO of Puppy Co. that threatens to destroy the balance of love in the world and this brash baby executive masquerading as his new brother is at the center of it all. Now, they must come together as true brothers to stop the dastardly scheme, save their parents, restore order to the world and prove that love is indeed an infinite force.
Alec Baldwin the voice of Boss Baby is not shy to playing authority figures on screen, but this is Baldwin’s first time voicing an animated baby who is indeed a boss. With all the attention Boss Baby is catching, we are wondering if we should expect a sequel to the film.
